Aileron, University of Dayton Center for Leadership Bring World-Class Coach Training to Ohio

The Dayton-based leadership development organizations, united by a shared commitment to developing stronger, more intentional leaders across the state, are making iPEC’s globally recognized coach training program accessible to Ohio leaders

TIPP CITY, Ohio – June 24, 2026 – This summer, Aileron is proud to bring the globally recognized Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) Coach Training to Aileron’s Campus in Tipp City, Ohio, in collaboration with the University of Dayton Center for Leadership, marking the first time the program has been available in the state. All three modules will be hosted in person, with Module I beginning July 31 and Modules II and III following in the fall and winter.

Until now, Ohio leaders interested in leadership coaching certification have had limited options in the region. This partnership brings one of the most respected coaching certification programs in the world to Ohio, making it accessible to leaders across the state and the Midwest.

“As an iPEC-trained coach, I have experienced firsthand the impact this program can have on the way leaders see themselves and the people around them,” said Joni Fedders, president and CEO of Aileron. “The iPEC framework is at the heart of how our coaches work every day at Aileron, which is why it felt like the natural next step for us to share this experience with our community. We’re proud to bring this training to Ohio, and grateful to the University of Dayton Center for Leadership for working alongside us to make it happen.”

This program is for more than aspiring coaches. It is for business owners, managers, human resources professionals, and leaders at any level who want to lead more intentionally, invest in their growth, and build environments where people can thrive.

Bringing this training to Ohio is about more than access. It is about investing in the leaders who are shaping the future of their organizations and communities. Aileron’s programming is rooted in conscious leadership, the same principles that sit at the core of iPEC’s methodology. For leaders who have already experienced that work through Aileron, this training is an opportunity to go significantly deeper.

“I came into my iPEC training already certified in other coaching methodologies, honestly unsure what else I’d find,” said Anne Thompson, Aileron business coach, leadership coach and facilitator. “What I discovered was a framework built around energy that gave me something I didn’t know I was missing: language my clients could actually use. That word, energy, resonates in a way that makes clients curious instead of skeptical, and opens doors to the kind of conversation other frameworks don’t.”

Hosting this program on Aileron’s Campus offers participants a rare opportunity to engage in this kind of immersive, peer-driven learning in a space designed specifically for focused, growth-oriented leadership development, one that other locations of this training, whether in person elsewhere or virtually, simply cannot replicate.

The University of Dayton Center for Leadership’s existing partnership with iPEC has been instrumental in building awareness of coaching culture across the region. When the opportunity arose for iPEC Coach Training to come to Ohio, Aileron and the University of Dayton Center for Leadership saw a chance to work together to make it visible and accessible to leaders across the state. This collaboration is rooted in a shared belief that developing conscious, intentional leaders makes Ohio stronger.

“What made this collaboration feel like the right fit for the University of Dayton Center for Leadership is our shared commitment to developing people and organizations,” said April Mescher, executive director of the University of Dayton Center for Leadership. “By bringing this training to the region, we are expanding access to coaching education that has traditionally required significant travel and investment.”

Aileron, iPEC, and the University of Dayton Center for Leadership believe investing in people is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen organizations and communities. According to the International Coaching Federation (ICF), 62% of employees in organizations with strong coaching cultures are highly engaged, and more than 70% of people who receive coaching report improved work performance and communication. That investment does not stop with the individual. It moves through every team, organization and community those leaders touch.

“The iPEC coach training program was life-changing, both personally and professionally,” said Jennifer Duwel, director of employee relations, talent and risk at the University of Dayton. “It equally challenged me to explore my own leadership potential while providing foundational coaching skills to empower others to build awareness, explore barriers and make conscious decisions about how to achieve their goals.”

The full iPEC Coach Training program consists of three modules, spaced roughly three months apart. Between modules, participants will complete peer coaching practice, mentor coaching sessions, and skill-building coursework.
